The truth is you ideally need a trade behind you as well as the basic training.

To try and help with this Certex UK are offering a free Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment examination course. This is one of the first steps that could set you on a path to become a statutory inspection engineer and will give you something extra to add to your CV making you more appealing to employers.

To qualify for this free training you just need to have your GWO’s, be actively looking for a start in the industry, and ideally have an engineering background.

Course Summary:

The aim of this course is to provide an in-depth overview of the inspection of Turbine Mounted Safety Equipment (TMSE) as required by the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) and defines where each regulation would apply.

Additionally, the course reviews the requirements of other relevant legislation and looks at the documentation required, and various inspection techniques used. It also explains why Turbines have certain equipment, their uses, and the importance of having regular inspections.
