The aim of this 5 day course is to provide delegates with the knowledge to fully understand the roles and responsibilities of the appointed person. Following the successful completion of the course, the delegate will have the knowledge and understanding to implement safe systems of work for lifting operations and be able to write risk assessments & method statements.

The course content is quite substantial and covers the following areas:

Each course delegate will be expected to complete a theory and practical examination. If successful, a certificate will be issued. Note: Where training provided is not specific to the type of lifting operations that the trainee will be undertaking, their employer should ensure supplementary training and competency assessment is undertaken.
The standard course is intended to last 5 day but for an experienced Appointed Person who holds a valid or recently expired certificate, a 3 day refresher can be attended. Bespoke courses can also be discussed.
The 5 day course assumes the candidate to already be qualified / experienced in the roles of either a Slinger / Banksmen or Crane Operator and Lift Supervisor.
The course is generally held at our Head Office at Harworth, however we are also able to utilise other Certex locations, or hold courses at Client premises if adequate facilities are available.
