Mark Hoggard
Mark entered the industry in 2004 after leaving the Armed Forces, starting as a crane operator, then later becoming a qualified trainer and tester. He ran his own freelance consultancy delivering accredited training courses in lifting and crane operations and health and safety, working in locations as far afield as Uganda and Qatar.
Mark is a registered trainer and tester with both the Construction Plant Competency Scheme (CPCS) and the CITB (Construction Industry Training Board). He is also a qualified NVQ Assessor and registered as a health and safety assessor and surveyor with NEBOSH (National Examination Board in Occupational Health and Safety).
Charles Gillespie
Charles’ career began with Bridon Ropes before moving to Certex UK. He has a wealth of knowledge in crane and elevator ropes and has presented a range of training courses across the world.
In his 25 years in the wire rope industry Charles has gained a detailed knowledge of a wide range of applications. Charles is able to bring that knowledge to present enjoyable and informative courses including the Wire Rope Examiners Course and the Certex Rigging Seminar.
George Coull
As our previous Training Manager and Technical Consultant, George has had a long and distinguished career in the mechanical handling industry. As well as a former chief examiner and ex-director of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), George has also been chairman and committee member of the British Standards committee MHE 3/10 for onshore and offshore cranes and was previously one of British Petroleum’s offshore crane specialists.
