Certex UK – one of the country’s leading suppliers of lifting products and services –provided shirts for the team’s 2007 Ayr tour last month, which included five games at the Scottish International Festival of Rugby. The tournament attracted around 1,000 players and the Doncaster team were runners up in the plate trophy. Andrew Allen, the under-12 senior coach at Doncaster Rugby Football Club, said: “We are very grateful to Certex for sponsoring these shirts. They really helped create an identity for the players and worked wonders in boosting overall team spirit.” Kevin Smith, Operations Director of Certex, which has 16 locations throughout the UK in addition to its headquarters at Trafford Court, Doncaster, added: “The company has had close connections with the Club for a number of years and we were delighted to be able to step in and fund the kit needed for the tour. “The Club works hard at fundraising for its junior sides but sometimes they need an extra boost and this is where local businesses, like our own, can offer support.” More than 20 players took part in the Ayr tour but all the club’s under-12’s were given a shirt, which can now be used as an away kit or for training purposes. The under-12’s have had an excellent season this year with some great rugby being played. Doncaster’s first team – the Knights – have had a great season, finishing third in the National League Division 1 in only their second season in the Division. |
