07/06/06 Certex Demonstrates New Products at Seawork 2006

A new exhibitor at this month’s Seawork 2006 is Certex UK, one of the nation’s leading distributors of lifting goods and services. The company, which has a longstanding reputation for supplying quality goods to the marine and shipping industry, will be using the event to showcase a number of innovative products, including the new Crosby chain sling – the Eliminator.

As the latest addition to Crosby’s popular Grade 8/10 chain system, the Eliminator combines four components of a standard chain sling – master link, connecting link, grab hook and adjuster – into one single fitting, making it smaller, lighter, and therefore easier for operators to handle. This provides a more cost-effective option for customers.

Jim Donelan, Manager of Certex’s Southampton branch, said: “This is just one example from the full range of lifting gear that we will have on display at the exhibition. As a company, we are always looking to promote products that are at the forefront of their field in terms of innovation, quality and value for money.”

As well as supplying new products and services to the marine and shipping industry, Certex currently holds contracts with several British ports, including Port of Felixstowe and Associated British Ports.

“Certex is widely recognised for its outstanding expertise and knowledge in lifting standards, legislation and product quality, and as such more and more people are choosing to come to us for a complete solution package,” said Jim Donelan. “This could include anything from product supply to the repair and maintenance, or inspection and testing of lifting equipment.”

Certex will be exhibiting products from its extensive range of lifting gear and offering information on its services at Seawork 2006 – Stand 171. Products include deck and hydraulic equipment, wire ropes and chains, fibre ropes, safety harnesses, magnets and lever hoists.

The company supplies only top-branded names, e.g. Bridon Ropes, Kuplex chain systems, Elephant chain blocks and Viking branded slings.
